We worry, because we are. “I think, therefore I am.” No. You are, long before you ever think. Any creature that recognizes this is sentient, as of that moment. We realize that we are, and this is our first thought. It is also our first, and most ingrained anxiety.

With this series of lessons, I have set my goal to make you think, and to help you understand why you think that. Perhaps this is folly. Or, is my worry, now, after the fact, purely part of my own existential anxiety?

Can you follow, chief? We still have a long way to go.

The Battle of Being

What can I say that has not already been said? What can I do that has not already been done? Not a lot. But I press forward. Forward to greatness.

I tell stories. I weave dreams. Have these stories been told before? Sometimes. But I won’t forget. I don’t want to let the tradition of dreamspeak and folk tale die. So I perpetuate them.

Tell your stories. Tell your dreams. Inspire people. Move forward. Evolution is not just a physical theory, but a spiritual and mental fact. We must strive to evolve our minds and souls towards that highest goal.

Dreamspeak, Storywalk

Let’s break away these walls and join each other.  I am no more teacher than I am student.  Richard Bach once wrote, “We teach best what we need to learn the most.”  Nothing could be more true.  So, here I am, on the cusp of something extraordinary, and I want all of you to join me.

Some secrets may change hands.  Life may transform as we evolve both physically and spiritually.  The adoption of technology to the shaman’s path is of utmost imprtance.  The shaman can no longer be just about nature.  The shaman has to grow with the culture, and the culture is growing rapidly.  Never has the shaman had the chance he does now.  The chance to be everywhere at once, literally.

As saplings we all start, but soon we grow into trees that devour our surroundings.  Be the oak tree.  Give something back for what you are taking.  Do not be the weeping willow, who takes all of the water it can, but offers nothing in return.

It’s time that we began to think globally.  There is more out there than your own backyard.  Jump for it.  Strive for it.  Become other worldly with me.   We cannot forgive those you have never reached for something greater.  The fate of mankind is in each of your hands.  Can you make it better?

1, ubuntu 7.10(Gutsy Gibben) – Release of the year no doubt. Smooth and easy clean install. They’ve probably doubly general user appeal with this release.
2. Flock – Flocking is the best thing since Google’s “I’m feeling lucky” button. If you use a lot of web 2.0 sites, this cuts browsing time in half, easy.
3. Tomboy Notes – I would get nothing done. as a writer,without Tomboy. Also great for GTD.
4. Pidgin – The messenger of choice again after a clean install. It’s everything you need for IMs and IRC.
5. Thunderbird Mail – Evolution was the browser of choice last time, but Thunderbird is too entrancing.
6. Dwarf Fortress – Best crazy addict roguelike, world-sim. Runs easy in wine.
7. Exaile Music Player – Wins mostly because it works more consistently than it’s alternatives, Amarok, and Listen.
8. Limewire/ktorrent - TIe – for best downloading utilities..
9. OpenOffice – for the real writing.
10. GRAMPS – gotta love this genealogy thing I’m doing for the parents.
11. Sound Juicer – for makin’ the .ogg’s.
12. k3b – for burning anything.
