Twitter is always down and some features don’t work, people moved to Friend Feed.  People realized that Friend Feed’s user interface was complete crap and came back to Twitter.  Twitter still having the same issues and not moving forward in any noticeable way, when Plurk lauched there was a mass exodus.  Now Plurk is putting us through the same bullshit as Twitter.  Down half the time, not all of the features work, etc, etc, etc.

I think Brightkite might be the only reliable microblogging site left.   I’ve yet to see it go down.

So the question remains, can someone get a microblogging site together, fuck all the frills and special features, we just need something that is reliable, supports SMS(in the US, unlike Jaiku), and allows posting via IM.

Throw everything else out the window, it’s worthless and just causes more and more issues.  I don’t care about my karma score.  I don’t care about rooms or cliques.  Just make it work.  Can it be that hard?

My fellow jaikunaut, @malach often talks about work/life integration.  I’m thinking that life needs a little more integration before it can be integrated with work.  Too many puzzle pieces. So you start with a corner, and build a perfect picture.

BUT for now, we have the first installment of the Best of Web2.0—

Basically, these are social, or technically linking systems. helping people find others with similar interests, old friends, and much more. So what are the top Web 2.0 sites? Here goes:

1. WordPress – The best blogging atmostphere ever. It’s like there are REAL writers here.

2. Jaiku. – Where life mets life mets chaos. Microblogging at it’s best.

3. last.fm – Stay hip to your social circle here, or just try like hell to get Elvis Costello to #1 played artist of the day.

4. Del.icio.us – Book marks that are smart. View your friends book marks to find lots of new content.

5. StumbleUpon – Simple. It makes the internet fun again.

6. Gmail – Email finally done right. It’s fast, easy, and works with everything. not to mention almost 4 gigs of personal email storage.

7. Anothr – Get your feeds IMed to you. It makes the news much easier to read. Fully customizable with the RSS family.

8. flickr – As cool as picture sharing can get.

9. netvibes – If you use a customizable home page, switch to netvibes, it’s the best.

Did I leave anything out? Let me know in the comments. But Facebook was left out on purpose!

First off, the names of a couple of the secondary pages have changed. Look up for the links. “If you like it, support it” is now titled simply, “Show Support.” The “Developmental Theology 089 Archive” page is now the “Classroom.”

Secondly, There are ads! Yes, ads! I know, I know, ads suck, I’m a sell out, whatever. If you actually look at a few of the ads, they do have some cool shit. I really like Karma Loop. Really. Check them out.

And last, there’s a cool link to my Jaiku. Click it. Join it. Jaiku is awesome. It updates my feeds from last.fm, flickr, LibraryThing, my Del.icio.us, and this blog, as well as short snipnets of my life that are not long enough to be actually blog worthy.
