Spiraling Down - Poetry

This is kinda cool.  Found it in an old binder.  It’s dated November of 1999.  That means I had just turned 17, so forgive any horribles, ok?

the black powder-life
came off on my fingers
and left my little
insect kin flightless
he flopped, mindlessly,
across the wet pavement
i only wanted to embrace
his beauty, but instead
i have taken his [...]
