Everybody has a dream of owning their own house. There is a lot of information available to make that dream a reality. You will actually be wondering you did not act so soon. One of the things you can do is to make your hose environmentally friendly.
Water conservation
Try to take measures where you can to reduce the amount of water being consumed onsite. Where water is necessary for the building project, seek to use recycled water (such as rainwater). Additionally, when you are building the property, seek ways to incorporate rainwater (or recycled water systems) into the home.
Energy conservation
It is easy to increase your energy bills by using artificial lighting. There are several situations where you won’t be able to get around this and that you will need to factor it into your overall budget costs. However, where you can make savings, aim to do it. Look into energy conservation bulbs and make use of natural light as much as possible. When considering energy conservation for the home, consider installing windows and shutters to create well lit areas and to use smart systems to conserve energy and help the environment.
Waste disposal – On building sites, you are going to accumulate a lot of waste. If you have excess materials, offer it to others in a recycling bid, rather than throw it away as rubbish. Also maintain the waste management on the building site well. Look into skips and partnering with building waste management services who can also offer you guidance on recycling and green initiatives when it comes to your build’s waste disposal.

Your house requires power. You will therefore have to ensure that the switches are in the right place and safe. What are your electrical needs? Where do you want the TV or aquarium to be placed? You should also ensure that you have a good laundry setup.
Switches & Electrical Outlets
Take note of where the electrical outlets and light switches in the home will be located. Think about outlets for your Christmas tree, fish tank, and wall-mounted flat-screen TV. Do you want a Christmas light plug outside? Don’t forget to ask about it. We’ve even heard of home owners having electrical outlets installed in the bathroom cabinets so they never have to unplug the blow dryer. Genius! Building a home allows you to do it right the first time. It’s your chance to think of everything!
Convenient Laundry Setup
Do you want your laundry room on the main floor or upstairs with the bedrooms? Will your laundry room double as a mudroom? Do you want built-in shelving or cupboards? Laundry is one of those necessary evils (we don’t like it either) but it has to be done. So why not do it in a seriously convenient room? Think about where your washer and dryer will go, where you will hang-dry clothes, where does the ironing board go? Consider hanging hooks and using baskets for storage, so many options!

If you are building a house, you should ensure that you have all the paperwork sorted. There are certain permissions that should be obtained from state departments. In some countries you will not use the local water supply for construction.
Permission you require
You will have to obtain permission from various departments of the state or city authority your plot falls under. You can build the property only when the city authority approves your building plan. In addition, you need a clearance certificate from the development authority, apart from clearances from other state departments such as fire safety, environment and transport departments.
The restrictions
Most metro cities in India have a provision where the government does not allow you to use groundwater or the supply water from a nearby source for construction. Thus, you cannot build your own bore-well for construction purposes.
You cannot use the road in front of the plot for dumping construction debris. In case you do so, you need to remove it within a week. It is for this reason that you need to cover roadside construction with a net screen not less than 8 ft in height from the ground level. During construction, a facade has to be created so that the debris falls within a protected area.
